Narrative

My name is Sampson Moss; Hatmaker and Dayworking Cowboy. I was born and raised in Southern Alberta. There are stories I still hear from my mom that ever since I was a little boy, I was always obsessed with hats (or, at least having some sort of object on my head, for that matter). I first cut my teeth at shaping hats for myself and friends in college around 2015, but didn't take it too seriously until about 2018, when I began restoring them.

It is through trial and error, as well as no shortage of encouragement from people that I am able to find inspiration and knowledge to administer to this art. I have always had a keen eye for artistic detail and am told that I am "Able to see things differently than most", which I heavily apply to my work. I am situated outside of Pincher Creek, AB.
